Flowsense FAQ

What are the technical requirements needed to include the code in an app?
The app needs to be native Android or iOS, or even in Cordova, Ionic, React Native or Titanium.
Does the app needs user’s permission?
The app needs to be authorized to collect location data in the app store (Play Store/Android or App Store/iOS). In addition, we require the inclusion of a clause on our client’s terms and conditions according to which the end user allows (non-costly) the transfer of anonymous information of geolocation, profile, application use, among others, to Flowsense.
Are there any geographical constraints to collecting user’s location?
No (technically, only at very high or low latitudes).
What are the possible types of campaigns for user engagement?
Two main types: campaigns created in our push notifications platform segmented by user profile, time of day and location; and campaigns managed by the customer’s own CRM, for which we feed user’s profile and triggers for engagement in real-time.
Can the app manager select a specific audience and automatically launch a campaign without Flowsense’s intervention?
Yes, this is the most common format. If our client prefers, we can manage the campaigns as well.
How many campaigns can be performed in a month?
There is no monthly limit on the number of campaigns.
How long does the set up (SDK instalation) take?
It’s very simple. Installing the code (SDK) takes 30 minutes to an hour of a developer. After that, users need to update the app on their smartphones, which can take a few weeks.
How is the identification and marking of points of interest made (eg pharmacy, supermarket, school)?
Points of interest are marked in two ways. The first way is through a integration with a global base of POIs (points of interest). If the customer prefers, we can also complement our base with its list of points of interest, based on address or latitude, longitude and radius.
What are the criteria for defined clusters?
Clusters are usually defined based on frequency on points of interest. For example, a Soccer Enthusiast attends soccer stadiums at least 2 times per semester. In the case of social class, we crossed the place of residence with the household income of that census sector, according to the 2010 Census, and we fit the person’s income in the Brazilian criteria range.
Is it possible to create new clusters according to our customer’s interest?
Yes, clusters are customizable according to our customer’s needs.
How is the data and battery consumption?
Both are optimized. Battery consumes something between 0.3% to 1.0% all day, and data consume around 300kB per month.
Can Flowsense enrich the analysis with app user data?
Yes, you can qualify each of your users with data such as gender, age, volume of purchases, and more, enabling more accurate filtering and visualization, as well as more targeted messages. Remembering that Flowsense works only with anonymous and non-personally identifiable data (PII).
What else can be customized besides clusters?
We can deliver data via API or send triggers for engagement also via API (Webhook). We can receive customer data and cross-refer to the information we generate. We can also count store visits at client’s POIs. Anyway, several aspects can be customized according to our client’s needs.
How is the service charged?
Our packages already include access to data analysis and push notifications platform. A monthly subscription is charged according to MAUs (monthly active users – that is the number of users we received data from within that month). We can also include extra services for on-demand studies, push campaign management and other analyzes based on our customer’s interest. These services are charged per man-hour.
